Music

If you read the “About Me” page, you know that music is one of my passions. I enjoy playing the piano and other instruments. I also enjoy writing music. I don’t claim to be a professional by any means, but music composition is one of my pursuits. I will keep this page filled with information regarding past, recent (and perhaps future) compositions. Also, just for fun, I’ll fill you in on some of my current repertoire at school for piano, etc.

Recent Works

  • Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne - piano duet. 4 hands at 2 pianos. I wrote this for my Hymn Playing class at BJU as part of my semester exam.
  • Abendlied (”Evening Song”) - violin/viola duet. An original composition of mine.
  • Sweet Hour of Prayer - vocal solo. This is a new tune for a familiar old text.

Works in Progress

  • I Heard The Voice of Jesus Say - New tune for SATB choir w/ piano accompaniment
  • Nocturne in F Minor - Original Piano solo
  • Melody in G - for lack of a better title… My sister’s wedding march for July of 2009.

Current Piano Repertoire

The literature below is what I am preparing for my Senior recital slated for March 6th, 2009.

  • Sonata in A Major Op. 2, No. 2 - Allegro Vivace by Beethoven
  • Intermezzo in A Major and Ballade in G Minor from Op. 118 by Brahms
  • 15 Hungarian Peasant Songs by Bartok

About Me

Peter is a Senior Church Music major pursuing his B.Mus. degree at Bob Jones University. He enjoys playing the piano, composing music, having fun with friends, and talking about himself in 3rd person. Due to the utter craziness of the semester, updates to this website may be few and far between, but keep your eyes peeled.

For those of you interested in keeping closer tabs on Peter, please grab his RSS feed or subscribe to his mailing list by clicking the links up top.
